  • We challenged chefs of three different levels - an amateur, a home cook and a professional chef - to make their versions of french fries. And then we brought in a food scientist to review their work. Which fries were the best?

                    I honestly love how the level 3 chef was informative and not all “ oh well I’VE BEEN A CHEF FOR 15 YEARS”.... idk how to explain it but she doesn’t seem stuck up. I really liked this video!

                                                      I wouldn't want to eat either one of these. They're fries! Why go through all that trouble? Onions, special sauces, brines? Whatever blows your hair back. I just put mine in the wok until they're browning, take them out and season them. Or once in a blue moon I'll make a beer batter for them.

                                                                      Dont @ me for this but sour cream isn’t good on fries. It’s good on mashed potatoes and baked potatoes and tacos, and some other stuff but sour cream is not good on French fries

                                                                            Level 2 chef is the best one no contest. Level 3 tried too hard to take away the point of fries. Its not supposed to be healthy 😂

                                                                                                  as a lifelong cook, and former professional cook, every single one of those ladies WAY over did fries.
                                                                                                  I like steak fries (THICC BOIS) but you can shoelace if you like.
                                                                                                  Wash the fries, Blanch for 40 seconds to a minute starting when the oil reaches 350 degrees F.
                                                                                                  Cool Completely (you can freeze if you want to save them for later.
                                                                                                  fry at 350-400 depending on preference, just pay attention to your oil, 400 is very close to auto-ignition temperature (420-450 depending on the oil)
                                                                                                  Drain the oil off the fries, salt/season as desired.

                                                                                                  the only "sauce" I use is Fry Sauce, 50/50 mix of mustard and catsup with maybe a pinch of lowery's seasoned salt and powdered garlic.
                                                                                                  That's It. Fries Be Simple. don't over do it.
